In some ways, quilting requires very few items. You don't even need a sewing machine! Just some fabric, thread, a couple needles and a good idea. However, the colorful patterns, the EPP kits and all of those incredible fabric bundles makes it easy to find a great gift for the quilter in your life. Here are some of my favorite tools, books and fabrics. Have fun and Happy Holidays!
Gifts For The Bag Maker
Bag makers use such a wide variety of tools! From the items that make the hard work easier, to the ones that just make it SO much more fun, you won't be short on gift ideas for your bag making friends. I've included the essentials I use every day, as well as some cozy and inspirational items. As we move into colder weather, us barefoot sewers need to protect our tootsies. These slippers are my favorite! I also included 3 bag making books I have on my personal wish list. These are great to study for ideas and inspiration. Have fun and Happy Holidays!
Gifts For The Beginner
These are the items I have used most since I started sewing. I highly suggest starting a ruler collection. The right size makes such a difference! I use Schmetz 80/12 needles the most and Guttermann Mara 100 polyester thread for everything. A seam ripper and cutting mat will be extremely helpful, and you'll be grateful you have an easy way to store your little bobbins! A handy rotary cutter and quality scissors will make quick work when prepping for bags and quilt blocks.

For those of you in the Southern Hemisphere, I'm sure the warm afternoons are a welcome change. This month's block is a really fun one.... and might be my favorite of the entire party... we'll see!

How do you usually feel about September? Ready for summer to wrap up? Cool fall crisp air rolling in? Excited to spend some more time indoors snuggled up with Netflix?
Block Party – Month 6
You've made it to August! Question: Do you consider August part of Fall or Summer? I know I know, it's technically a summer month. But, you can feel the anticipation of fall, right? Pumpkin spice will start showing up this month. Fall decor will start coming out. So..... I say forget seasons. Let's get our fall on!
Block Party – Month 5
Happy July quilty friends! I can't believe we're already to month 5 of our Block Party! I've had such a fun time making these and seeing your versions. This month we're working on - wait for it - partial seams! To be honest, partial seams get a bad rap. They are much easier than they seem and help you create all kinds of beautiful block designs. So give it a shot and let me know what you think!
Block Party – Month 4
