I’m so excited to have the opportunity to be a part of the ByAnnie #SewPink Blog Hop again! It’s such a special event they put together throughout the entire month of October for breast cancer awareness, that’s both inspiring and charitable. For more information on this initiative, check out the information below:
The #SewPink Initiative was created by ByAnnie.com LLC to raise awareness for breast cancer throughout the year. Efforts culminate in an annual blog hop during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month to promote self-care, awareness, early detection and support for those affected by breast cancer. For my project in this Blog Hop, I decided to try out a ByAnnie pattern that I’ve been eyeballing for months! The Hot and Heavy bag is such an adorable shape, with multiple uses. Intended to carry your iron, you could also use this as a travel bag, craft bag, or every day bag. I decided to use a monochromatic nylon material with pops of color, and then splashed pink all over the bag to tie it in with the #SewPink Blog Hop. I love how it turned out! For a full tutorial on how I made this bag, and tips for sewing nylon as well as how I used ByAnnie’s elastic for the binding, check out the YouTube Video.
The nylon exterior, water resistant canvas interior, seatbelt webbing straps and elastic binding made this bag quick to put together, but also ensure that it will be durable and last for years to come. And it’s CUTE!
Happy Sewing!
