Sweet Cone Quilt Pattern

This was such an exciting pattern to put together. I had been mulling over this idea for over a year, trying to come up with an intersecting quilt block pattern.  One that you could arrange however you want, and all the blocks will "connect" with one another.

TA-DA!  The Sweet Cone Pattern was born. It's currently available in my shop here!  The pattern includes measurements for Throw, Twin and Queen sizes.

I'll be honest, I originally had a vision to add some curves and templates with this pattern.  But if you have been keeping up with my Delilah Block of the Month posts, you may have noticed that curves are no friend of mine.  And if I can't confidently explain how to master the curve, I can't give you a pattern using them.

But it is a future goal! So don't you worry about me, I haven't quit the curve just yet.

I made two variations of this pattern, both throw size using Tula Pink All Stars Fat Quarter Bundle from Fat Quarter Shop and Tula Pink Pom Poms and Stripes from Fat Quarter Bundle.

Due to a recent batting shrinkage episode, I make sure to document the batting I use on each quilt. I used Quilters Dream Cotton and an Art Gallery Fabric backing by Pat Bravo.

The fabric on the left are the remnants of making one quilt. I had enough of almost everything to make my second throw.

What I love about this pattern is that you can really make this quilt any design you want.  You can keep all the blocks in one direction, using only 3 colors total, mix them around like you are dancing in crazy town.

Whatever type of design you want, it's simple to accomplish.

And did I mention.... NO CURVES!!!

Make sure to post all of your Sweet Cone Quilt designs using hashtag #sweetconequilt and #oklarootspatterns.

I cannot wait to see what you come up with!  I'm off to make a few dozen more of these babies.
